At SAFE Place Merseyside, we have a dedicated team ready to help and support people who have experienced rape or sexual assault.
Our management team is led by Lisa Waters, Head of Operational and Strategic Performance.
Our medical team is led by our joint Clinical Directors Dr Michelle Carroll & Dr Helen Mills.
At SAFE Place Merseyside we support women, men and children of all ages.
Children are most commonly seen by our highly skilled forensic doctors at the Alder Hey Rainbow centre.
Our team is made up of:
Crisis workers
Their role is to support a person from the moment they arrive at SARC and throughout the forensic medical examination. They can answer any questions and will be present and reassuring during the whole visit. Our crisis workers are available on the phone 24/7 to offer support and advice to anyone who has experienced rape or sexual assault.
Forensic Doctors
We have a team of highly trained doctors. The doctors’ role is to gather evidence from the client for the police and to make sure that their medical needs are dealt with. We can offer appointments during the day, out of hours and at weekends.
Admin team
The Centre is supported by an administrator.
